Easy Installation Guide for Jumbolene® Roof Insulation
General Installation Tips
- The insulation material is laid across the purlins from the highest point (apex) to the gutter.
- Overlap insulation sheets by 50-100mm to avoid gaps.
Accessories required for insulation are;
- The Jumbolene insulation sheet.
- Roof screws (self-drilling with washer).
- Roll of galvanized binding.
- Silicone adhesive or Conta glue Optional).
- Steel nails (Optional).
- Double-sided insulation tape (Optional).
- Measuring tape.
- Roofing screws and washers.
- Drill or screwdriver.
- Ladder or scaffolding
Here, insulation goes above the purlins/battens.
- Set Up Strainer Wires:
- Start at the purlin near the roof's highest point.
- Stretch 2mm galvanized wires across the roof, pulling them tight to the gutter end.
- Lay the Insulation:
- Roll out Jumbolene® insulation from the ridge down to the gutter.
- Pull it tight to prevent sagging.
- Hold it and Reinforce it using the hoop iron.
- Check the Right Side:
If using single-laminate insulation, make sure the Anti-Glare or white side faces the floor. - Secure Everything:
- Overlap each roll by 100mm to avoid heat loss.
- Fix the roofing sheets over the insulation using screws, making sure they go through the insulation and into the purlins.
Here, insulation goes under the purlins/battens.
- Roll Out the Insulation:
- Start under the ridge beam and roll Jumbolene® towards the gutter.
- Secure it using 4mm thick x 25mm wide galvanized sheets and screws.
- Check the Right Side:
If using single-layer insulation, the Anti-Glare or white side should face the floor. - Tighten and Overlap:
- Pull the insulation tight to the wall plate to avoid heat loss.
- Overlap sheets by 50-100mm to create a vapor barrier.
- Prevent Sagging:
- Support the insulation under the purlins with 2mm galvanized wires pulled tightly across trusses.
- Hold It and Reinforce it using the hoop iron.
- Cut Around Obstacles:
For pipes or vents, cut a small opening in the insulation and fit it snugly to avoid heat leaks.
✅ Ensure all overlaps are sealed properly, you can use conta glue to ensure the overlaps are properly bonded.
✅ Double-check insulation is tight and secure.
✅ Look for any gaps that might reduce insulation efficiency.
✅ Take safety precautions when working at heights, such as using a stable ladder or scaffolding.
